OVERVIEW
Assignments are the individual steps which comprise a project’s workflow.
USER GUIDE
Assignments differ from statuses in that they are actionable tasks which a staff member can complete instead of simply reporting the current state of the project. This should hold true in most cases. An exception to this rule is when the project is on hold due to factors which are beyond the control of your company, such as missing information. In these cases, an assignment should be created which designates the status of the project. Review the default 1040 Individual project definition’s assignment group to see an example of what this would look like.
Assignments can be created, modified and deleted by navigating to projects in the setup menu and selecting project assignments. This list populates the options of available assignments to select from when creating assignment groups for the project definitions.
